Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid, of Working at Home
Are you tired of working for your boss? Do you want to break free? Is it possible to generate a handsome income from the confines of your bedroom? These and many other questions need to be answered. I have hope for you. But first I have to scare you. There are excellent work-from-home programs that will give you the freedom you desire. Several Internet sites offer outstanding ideas for starting a home business. But there are many more that are set up with the sole purpose of stealing your hope and taking your money.
It really is true that the rapid technological and social changes caused by the Internet and electronic commerce (e-commerce) have allowed millions of people world-wide to earn a decent income working online jobs.
Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, there are thousands of people who have spent some, or in many cases, a lot of moneyliterally thousands of dollarsin the hope they would be able to live off their Internet work, but in the end have become frustrated. These people have been betrayed and ripped-off.
There are thousands of web sites which make grand claims about earning a six-figure incoming doing very little. Any simple web search for ‘online jobs\” or ‘work for home’ will find you many. The problem is - which one can you trust? All of them have pictures of a glamorous life with pools, fast cars, large houses, but is it real, or just hype?
It is, without any doubt, difficult to work out which sites are genuine and which are scams. However, there are a few techniques that you can use to help determine which are genuine and which are not. Companies that lure you in with web sites of private jets, luxurious homes and cars are generally bogus. If the photos are polished and look like they come from a magazine, they may have - or at least were bought from a professional photographer or stock photography company. Look for photos that are obviously snapshots and unpolished.
Look carefully for outrageous or unbelievable claims. Nobody is going to make a million dollars in their first year in any legitimate online business. Companies which are genuine are not going to make such crazy claims. Only trust companies which have a solid and positive track record at industry watchdog organizations. Online forums are extremely useful ways to read other people’s opinions of companies, and to discover genuine online jobs.
Without at least a minimum of training, it is all too easy to fall victim to bogus companies. You must learn how to spot them before you start looking around for an online job. Check the large number of home business reviews available on the Internet before paying any money to anyone.
Before spending a single dollar, do your research. Most of the fraudulent companies require a one-time membership (sometimes ongoing) of around $100 or more. It’s possible some of these are real businesses which do provide you with real work and reasonable incomes. But many are not, so beware. It’s not just the subscription money you risk, either - you will waste your time, which in the end is far more valuable. Finally, realize that scammers will continue to ask for more money once they get their hooks into you.
