As home equity loans are usually over longer periods of time and take your house as security the interest rates are normally very favorable.

Home equity loans are secured loans that allow you to avail loan against the equity of your home. The collateral placed for availing loan is the home equity. The term “equity” is defined as the amount of funds you have invested to own your home or to improve it.

When someone is contacted by NCO it is about an outstanding debt. They are also referred to as NCO financial, NCO group or a variation of NCO. They have a past of breaking legislation with their collection methods.

NCO is typically hired by a lender to come in and collect delinquent debts. They are known for using intimidation, threats and harassment at tools to collect on a debt.

In 2004 NCO violated the FCRA or Fair Credit Reporting Act. The FTC imposed a strict penalty and forced NCO to pay 1.5 million dollars. They were in violation because according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act a delinquent debt can only remain on your credit history for a maximum of 7 years. NCO was reporting late dates, in an attempt to manipulate the system and have a debt be listed for more than 7 years.
